We use an intra-oral camera – that is, a miniature video camera – to detect tiny cavities, fractures and cracks that other exams can miss. You and your child can watch together.
And because we are extremely careful to minimize your child’s exposure to radiation, we use digital x-rays, which produce the same high-quality picture with as little as 1/10th the radiation – and require zero toxic materials to develop.
By the way, did you know that exams detect much more than cavities? We use x-rays and video to check the condition of injuries and erupting teeth, diagnose bone disease and plan orthodontic treatment.
If your child is high-risk for tooth decay, the AAPD (American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry) recommends x-rays and exams every 6 months. If not, once a year is sufficient, with a complete panoramic set of x-rays every 3 years.
