Education and Experience
After graduating from dental school with my Doctorate of Dental Surgery, I practiced general dentistry for a few years. During that time, I worked with many very nervous and stressed adult patients who were still suffering from traumatizing dental experiences from childhood.
After treating those patients, I aim to make a difference through positive early dental experiences for future generations. I returned to school and completed a rigorous three-year pediatric dentistry residency at Tufts Dental School and Tufts New England Medical Center in Boston.
I have practiced dentistry for over 20 years and am proud of this practice. We are driven to provide each child and their family with positive, supportive, and nurturing experiences, so they gain and strengthen their trust with every interaction.
Professional Affiliations, Continuing Education, and Activities
I am an active member of the:
- University of Washington Pediatric Faculty Association
- American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry
- American Dental Association
- Washington State Dental Association
- American Academy of Clear Aligners
These organizations provide numerous continuing educational offerings throughout the year, and I take advantage of as many as I can. By taking various courses, I constantly update my knowledge and abilities by studying new technology, materials, and methodologies, and implementing the best into my practice.
One area of particular interest is helping children with tongue and lip ties. This has included researching the latest technology and procedures for releasing these ties and subsequently implementing them within my practice.
Additionally, I teach at the University of Washington Department of Pediatric Dentistry and participate in overseas missionary trips.
Beyond the Practice
I grew up in Tehran, moved to Boston, and have lived on the Eastside of Seattle for over 20 years. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my daughter when she is home from university and travelling the world with my husband. I am also an avid reader and love to keep fit.
Many of my patients and their families are local, and I enjoy getting to know and interacting with them outside of work. I volunteer with many local events and participate in numerous fundraisers for charities that make this a healthier, happier place for all!
